What Jamaah Tableegh does not want Arabs to know-

by Shahed Assalafi

The Reality Of Jamaah Tableegh-

In the name of ALLAH the most gracious ,and the most merciful-

All praise is for Allah alone and may peace and blessings be upon our beloved Prophet.

The following article is dedicated to all seekers of truth.

It is written especially for my Arab brothers , to present before them the untold and often ignored reality of Jamaah Tableegh.

This note highlights the grave errors of Jamaah Tableegh based purely upon quotations from their books and the statements of the senior scholars of jamaah tableegh.

The note also explains how Jamaah Tableegh has been instrumental in spreading Sufism and its deviant concepts, and that the mistakes of Jamaah tableegh are not limited to minor issues like their specifying three days or forty days or the khurooj, etc., but in Aqeeda and Ittiba and most importantly how today it has deceived Arab Muslims under the Garb virtues and in the name of Dawa.

I felt the necessity to write this note after my recent encounters with Arab groups of Jamaah Tableegh, since I stay in the eastern Indian city of Kolkata, I get to meet a lot of foreign jamaats – I mean the groups that come with jamaat tableegh from foreign countries on the 40 days khooruj ,because my city is a transition point for these jamaats on their way to Bangladesh.

Ever since I learned to speak Arabic ,I tried talking to some of the Arabs who came for chillas(40 days khurooj ) here, and my interaction revealed, that these men are totally unaware of the real face of Jamaah Tableegh and its affairs in south Asia, they look up to Jamaah Tableegh as an opportunity to do dawa to south Asian Muslims who are under the venomous influence of Sufism and grave worship, in a recent conversation with a group from Syria, I was surprised when they claimed that they are Salafis, and their intention of the 40 days khurooj here in India was to help people understand the danger of Shirk. They were shattered when I showed them the Book Fadail Amaal and the stories of shirk in it.

I showed them this dua – TARHAMMA YAA NABI ALLAH – in it ,and because it was in Persian ,they could read because of the Arabic script -they were surprised ,they said they have never seen this book, the fadail amail in arabic they know does not have all these chapters-They primarily follow Riyad Asaleheen-and this was the same reaction I got from other Arab jamaatis i spoke to.

And what’s even worse is that they now made inroads in to Saudi Arabia-and its not just the south Asian immigrants and workers there who are running it-they now have a fair share of Saudis who actively take part in their activities-and their influence is gaining momentum, Our Arab brothers have honest intentions, and join jamah tableegh purely for the sake of Allah ,unaware of what Jamaah Tableegh is doing in South Asia, and I hope this note helps them understand this great fitna.

Jamaah Tableegh was founded by a man named Ilyaas Kandalwi in the year 1926 in north India.

Ilyaas Kandalwi belonged to the Deobandi school of thought and was a staunch follower and supporter of Sufism.

He founded the Jamaat Tableegh on Sufi principles and incorporated many Sufi practices like Muraqabah (meditation), Chillah (40 day seclusion period) and the silent Dhikr (remembrance) into the routines of his Jamaat.

Elders of the Deodandi school of thought, including Ilyaas Kandalwi have testified to the fact that their Manhaj (way) is that of the Sufis and take pride in it.

Mufti Abdur-Rahim Lajpuri quoted in his book of Fatawa, the words of Qaree Mohammed Tayyib (the rector of the Darul-Uloom, Deoband-(the head quarters of the deobandi sect) as, “Religiously, the Ulema of Deoband are Muslims, as a sect they belong to the Ahl us-Sunnah wal-Jamaah, by Madhhab they are Hanafee, in conduct they are Sufis, scholastically they are Maturidi and in Sulook they are Chisti- rather they combine all Sufi orders… And in nisbat they are Deobandi.” “In essentials and beliefs, they (the Deobandis) follow Imam Abul Hasan Ash’aree and Imam Abu Mansoor Maturidi; and in sub-principles Imam Abu Haneefah. They are initiates of the Chistiyyah, Naqshbandiya, Qadriyah and Soharwardiyah Sufi orders”

Mohammad Zakariyah, The son-in-law of Ilyaas Kandalwi and the author of Fazaail-e-Aamaal or Fadail Amaal. He was well acquainted with Sufism and was given the Khilafah of all the four Sufi Tareeqahs by Moulana Khalil Ahmad Saharanpuri, (Mashaikh-e-Chist, English Translation. p.304-305.)
His book ‘Fadail Amaal’ (‘Fazaail-e-Aamaal’ in urdu) is revered and used as a training guide by the workers of the ‘Jamaat Tableegh’ highly praises this Fatawa collection (Fatawa Rahimiyyah) of Mufti Lajpuri and approves of the views mentioned in it.

Mohammad Zakariyah says, “The humble writer prays most sincerely for (success of) the Fatawa Rahimiyyah. May Allah make it the lot of the people to avail themselves more and more of and derive benefit from it and make it a Sadaqah-e-Jariah (continuous charity) for you (the author), for the printer and publisher and for everyone who may have in any way endeavored for the publication of this work and bestow upon you (all) its best rewards in both the worlds.” [Quoted from the first page of ‘Fatawa Rahimiyyah’ vol.1, published by the Islamic Book Printers, edition: Feb. 1997]

Mohammad Zakariyah quotes Haji Imdadullah Muhajir Makki in his book Mashaikh-e-Chist (Eng. Trans. pg.211) saying, “…The Faqir does not die. He is simply transformed from one abode to another. The same benefit which was received from the Faqir’s physical life will be acquired from his grave.”
The Sufism and shirk in the aqeedah of Ilyaas Kandalwi and Muhammad Zakariyah will be proved further when we analyze his most famous book Fadail Amaal.

Originally known as Tableeghi Nisaab, Fadail Amaal or ‘Fazaail-e-Aamaal’ literally means the virtues (Fazaail) of actions of worship (Aamaal). It consists of a series of booklets written by Mohammad Zakariyah Kandhalvi on the instructions of Ilyas Kandalwi (the founder of Jamaat Tableegh) as mentioned by Moulana Zakariyah himself in his autobiography.

This book is read by followers of jamaat tableegh in all south asian countries ,this book is compulsorily carried in their khurooj, and it is obligatory for them to read from this book in thier ’Halakaas’ or gathering/majlis after every salah, particularly Fajr and Asar. Reading Tafseer al Quran or books of hadeeth like Bukahri ,Muslim,Riyad Assaleheen are never encouraged by the elders of Jamaah Tableegh – (they have a standard opinion here that these books are only meant for scholars, and only someone with indepth knowledge of Islaam can understand these books) So the only source of knowledge for jamaat tableeghees in south asian countries is centered entirely arround Fadail Amaal.

Fazaail-e-Aamaal consists of nine booklets, namely – Hikayaat Sahabah, Fazaail-e-Dhikr, Fazaail-e-Namaaz, Fazaail-e-Tableegh, Fazaail-e-Qur’aan, Fazaail-e-Darood, Fazaail-e-Ramadaan, Fazaail-e-Sadaqat and Fazaail-e-Hajj. These series were compiled in two volumes and entitled, ‘Tableeghi Nisaab.’ They were intended to be the fundamental training guide for the cadre of the Jamaat Tableegh. Later on, it was re-named, ‘Fazaail-e-Aamaal.’ This book originally in Urdu, has been translated to many different languages. But it has never been translated into the Arabic language as a whole.

The Arabic version is just a small booklet of about 72 pages compared to the original Urdu books, which consists of two volumes (400+ pages each). The Arabs who affiliate themselves to the Jamaat Tableegh never refer to the Tableeghi Nisaab, but to Imaam Nawawi’s collection of Hadeeth, ar-Riyaadh as-Saliheen.

A lot of questions will arise in every unbiased mind at this point.

Why hasn’t Fadail Amaal ever been translated into Arabic as a whole?

Why must south Asians in Jamaah Tableegh follow Fadail and not Arabs?

How is it that the two volumes of Fadail Amaaal together with a 1000 pages be summarized into just 70 pages in the Arabic Translation? And what was all that was in it that had to be removed?

If there is something wrong with Fadail Amaal then why not give the South Asians Riyad Assalaeheen like the Arabs?

We can find the answers to these questions, if we analyze this highly revered book of Jamaah Tableegh –

Besides containing concocted and fabricated ahadith, Fadaila Amaal also contains baseless and absurd stories of imaginary people, presented in such a way as though they really existed. Quite a few of these stories lead to Shirk, the most heinous sin and can destroy the Eeman of ignorant Muslims. The discrepancies present in the book are too many to be discussed in an article.

I shall, therefore discuss just a few of them in the light of the Qur’an and the Sunnah.

§ Stories of Making dua to the Prophet Sallaho alayhi Wasslam at his grave-
1. Saying “YAA RASOOL ALLAH ANA JO’AAN” -Abu Bakr Bin Al-Muqri narrates that he along with Imam Tabrani and Abul Shaikh were in Madina. They had nothing to eat, they kept fasting one day after the other, until one night he went to the Prophet’s Grave and said-“YAA RASOOL ALLAH ,I AM HUNGRY”, after this it so happened that a man from the Alwi Familly( Prophet’s ahlal bait) came to them with food and said ,that you had complained to the Prophet for food, so the Prophet came to my dream and asked me to bring you food. (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL HAJJ pg. 170)

2. The Prophet gives bread to a man who prays at his grave- A Sufi man named Ibne Jila says that he went to medina, he had no money and nothing to eat , so he went to the Prophet’s grave and made prayed to the Prophet-“Master I am your guest”-after saying this, he fell asleep, in his dream ,he saw the Prophet. The Prophet gave a piece of bread, I ate half of it and when I got up from sleep the other half was in my hand.

3. The Prophet gives Dirhams – Similar story is narrated by Sufi Abu Abdullah Muhammad Bin Abi Zar’aa. He says that his father went to the Prophet’s grave and said-“YAA RASOOL ALLAH,I AM YOUR GUEST TODAY” after saying this he sat next to the grave .After some time he got up and started to cry and then laugh, when some one asked him what’s the matter he said that –the Prophet gave him Dirhams… (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL HAJJ pg. 170)

4. Shaikh Abdus Salam bin Abil Qassim Saqli – says that a man told him that he was in Madina, and he was very old and had nothing with him. He went to the prophet’s Grave and said- YAA SAYYID AL AWWALEEN WA AAKHIREEN, I am a resident of Egypt, I am here at your service for 5 months, and I ask You and Allah to appoint some one for me who can take care of my daily food requirements., after this he made more dua and sat next to the Mimbar. (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL HAJJ pg. 171)

5. Sabit Bin Ahmad Abul Qasim Baghdadi says that he saw the Muaddhin calling out the Adhan of Fajr in Masjid Nabawi, when the muaddhin said ASSALATO KHAIRUM MINANNAUM, a slave man threw stone at him,the Muaddhin started crying and said “YAA RASOOL ALLAH, in your presence this has happened to me, after he made this Dua ,the slave man who threw stone at him was struck with paralysis, and he died after three days(FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL HAJJ pg. 171)
(* MAJOR SHIRK-please note that the muaddhin prayed to the Prophet and not Allah when he was hurt, and his dua was immediately accepted, can this story ever be true??? Are we Muslims not supposed to call Allah alone for help at all times??? )

The Prophet (sallaho alayhi wasllam) answering from his Grave-

6.Sayyidna Alee ibn Abi Talib radiallaho anh says that when Sayyidna Abu Bakr was on his death bed, he made his last will (wasiya) to him that when he is dead ,his dead body should be taken to the Prophet’s grave and Say that this is Abu Bakar ,and he wants to be buried next to you, if the door of the prophet’s house opens after this question then he should be buried next to the Prophet, and if the door does not open then he should be buried in baqee- after Abu Bakr’s beath, Alee took his body to the Prophet’s Grave and he said-Yaa Rasool Allah ,this is Abu Bakr and he wants to be buried next to you-at this the door of the Prophet;s house opened suddenly and a voice came from inside (i.e. from the Prophet’s grave) saying “Bring him to his friend” (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL HAJJ pg. 176)
(*this is a fabricated hadith, another version of this false hadith is mentioned just before this one ,in the same page, with Aboo Bakr making the same wasiya to Sayyida Aisha –and when his dead body is taken to the Prophet’s grave and asked-the voice from the Prophet’s grave says-“Bring him in with respect”)

7. Shaikh Ibraaheem bin Shayban says that when he went to the Prophet’s Grave and said Assalam alaykum,he heard the reply Waalayk asslam from inside the Prophet’s house.

8. Shaikh Abu Nasr Abdul Wahid says that ,he saw Abu Bakr Dayyar Bikri standing near the prophet’s grave and say Assalamo alayka yaa Rasool Alllah-then every one heard “ Walayk assalam yaa Aba Bakr” from the prophet’s grave

Analysis of these stories in the light of Qur’an and Sunnah –there is a consensus among the scholars of the Sunnah that Praying to the Prophet ,with the intention that the Prophet can hear and grant prayers is SHIRK-

The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) is reported to have said: “Verily Du’a (supplication) is worship”. (Transmitted by Abu Dawood and Tirmidhi, Imaam Tirmidhi called it ‘hasan’. See Riyaadus-Saliheen, Hadith # 1466).

It is also authentically reported that the Messenger (pbuh) of Allah has said: “Let one of you ask his Lord for what he needs, even asking Him for the lace of his shoe if it breaks.” (Collected by Tirmidhi, Classed as hasan by al-Albaani in Mishkaat al-Masaabeeh.)

Narrated Urwa- ‘Aisha said, “The Prophet in his fatal illness said, ‘Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians because they took the graves of their Prophets as places for praying.’ ” ‘Aisha added, “Had it not been for that, the grave of the Prophet (p.b.u.h) would have been made prominent but I am afraid it might be taken (as a) place for praying.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 2, Hadith # 414

.The Prophet bringing his hand out of his grave-

Sayyid Ahmad Rifai was a great Sufi Mystic, when in 555 hijri he went for hajj ,after completing hajj he went to Madina, and visited the Prophet’s grave ,and read out two lines of poetry, and asked the Prophet to bring his hand out from his grave so that he can kiss it,at this the Prophet’s hand came out from his grave and he kissed it. (FADAIL AMAAL, PART-1,BOOK Fadail Durood Sharif pg. 774) [*please note that Muhammad Jakariyah likes this story so much that he repeats it in FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL HAJJ pg. 176)

Hafiz Abu Naeem narrates from Sufiyan Suri the story of a young boy who went to hajj with his mother. On their way back, the boy’s mother died and her face turned black and her stomach started swelling. The boy raised his hands to pray to Allah, just then he a cloud come towards him from the sky and The Prophet came out from the cloud, the Prophet put his hands around the boy’s mother’s face and stomach, and her face turned bright and the swelling of the stomach was gone. (Fadail Amaal ,Part-2,book -fadail Durood Shareef,pg. 765)

2.There was a shaikh in Makkah named Ibn Thabit who would go to Madina every year to offer Salam at the Prophet’s grave.
One year because of illness he could not make it to Madina, that year he was sitting in his room feeling sleepy, just then he saw the Prophet in his house and the Prophet said to him-“Ibn Thabit ,you could not come to meet me this year,so i came to meet you.” (Fadail Amaal, part-2,Book Fadail hajj,pg-168)
Qaseeda and story of Jamee.-
Mohammad Zakariyah narrates an incident of The famous Sufi poet and mystic Jamee.

When Jamee went for Hajj ,he intended to visit Madina and recite some of verses of poetry at the Prophet’s grave.

After completing hajj, when Jamee was about to leave for Madina,The Ameer of Makkah saw the Prophet in his dream, the Prophet told the Ameer that dont let him(Jamee) come to Madina…
The ameer of Makkah had Jamee arrested, and put in prison. After this the Ameer again saw the Prophet in his dream, this time the Prophet told him that,Jamee is not a criminal or an offender, rather Jamee has intended to read some verses of poetry at my grave,if he does that then I will bring my hand out of my grave,to shake hands with him,and this will cause fitna.
[*Please note that Jamee had only intended to visit the Prophet’s grave and recite his poetry ,so how did the Prophet come to know what was inside his mind?

Is Mohammad Zakariyah trying to tell us the Prophet is Aalim al ghaib, even after his death ,Aaoozubillah]
This is Jamee’s Qaseeda (poetry in praise of the prophet) ,which according to Mohammad Zakariyah would have compelled the PROPHET TO BRING HIS HAND OUT FROM HIS GRAVE.

The first couplet of the Qaseeda says- Oh! Messenger Of ALLAH have mercy on us ,Oh! Mercy upon mankind ,cast your favour upon us (Karamna Yaa Rasool Allah,
yaa rahmat al lil aalameen tarhamna.)

The seventh couplet says- The Prophet’s pure and holy body had no shadow (*typical sufi aqeeda that the Prophet was not bashar, but he was made of noor)

Tenth couplet-“Please come out (Oh Prophet) from your house and the green dome(the dome above the prophet’s grave) into the haram and walk keeping your feet upon our heads ,which we keep bowed on your way”.

Eleventh couplet-Please help the helpless, solve the problems of those in trouble and calm the hearts of those who love you.”

(Fadail Amaal,part -1,book -fadail duroof shareef,pg-775-776)

After this qaseeda,Muhammad zakariyah ,presents the Qaseeda of another Sufi poet,Muhammad Qasim-

The Fiftheenth couplet -Allah created the univererse and all that exits only for you (Oh Muhammad).

Twenty fifth couplet says-“It is for your sake (tufail) that the universe has existence, so it is proper that we call you the “Source of All Creation” (Mabdaa’ al asaar) 30th couplet -Musa was desperate to see Allah, but Allah was desperate to meet Muhammad

33rd couplet -it is just the viel of Bashariyah upon your beauty (i.e in reality you are not Bashar) (Fadail Amaal, part -1,book -fadail duroof shareef,pg-780)
(*Its such a shame that in the preface of these Qaseedas in pg 773 ,Mohammad Zakariyah claims that when he began writing Fadail Durood Shareef,The Prophet came in his dream and ordered him to definitely mention a a Qaseeda in this part,so he opted for these Qaseedas ????? How can this ever be possible that Prophet would order someone to mention the prayers made at his grave and glorrify Sufis like Jamaee and Qassim, when the Prophet said-“Allah cursed the Jews and the Christians because they took the graves of their Prophets as places for praying.” (Sahih Bukhari, Vol. 2, hadith # 414))

An Allegation on the Prophet (pbuh)

Mohammad Zakaria narrates a story of two brothers. When their businessman father died and his wealth was equally distributed between them, there were three strands hair of the prophet (pbuh) to be equally distributed too. The elder brother suggested breaking the third strand of hair into two pieces for distribution, the younger brother did not agree. The elder brother asked him if he agrees to take all the three strands of hair and give away his share of inheritance to him. The younger brother happily agreed. When the younger brother die, some peolple saw the Prophet in their dreams,The Prophet told them that “If any of you is in need of anything, then sit next to his (the younger brother’s) grave and pray to Allah”
, (Fadail Amaal,part -1,book -fadail duroof shareef,pg-756)

Imagine! the prophet (pbuh) is believed to have said such a thing. Can we ascribe such a statement to the person who has said: “..Beware that those before you took the graves of their Prophets as places of worship. Do not take graves as places of worship, for verily I forbid you to do so.” (Saheeh Muslim, Hadith # 1083)

Narrated Anas (RA) -The fact which stops me from narrating a great number of Hadiths to you is that the Prophet said: “Whoever tells a lie against me intentionally, then (surely) let him occupy his seat in Hell-fire.” (Sahih Bukhari, Volume 1, hadith no. 108)

Prophet’s Grave is better (Afdhal) than The Kaaba and the Arsh of Allah-
“The Holy Grave of the Prophet is better all other, the part of the grave, where the Prophet’s body is,is bettere than the Kaaba,it is better that the Arsh of Allah, and better than all that is there in the heavens and the earth” (Fadail Amaal, part-2,Book Fadail hajj,pg-138)

The Excreta and Urine of the Prophet is Pure and Holy (Tahir)- “The Prophet’s stool, urine and all other excreta are Pure (Tahir). There no doubt about it ” (Fadail Amaal, part-1,Book Hikaayaat e Sahaba, pg. 170)

(*Wasn’t the Prophet (pbuh) aware of this? If he was, then why would he perform ablution every time after answering the call of nature?)

Supernatural powers of Sufi mystics and their practices that conflict the Sunnah

Did not sleep at night for 40 years-

Shaikh Abdul Wahid was a famous Sufi.He says that one night he felt so sleepy that he fell asleep, and could not do his Tasbeeh and Adhkaar (rememberence of allah),in his sleep he saw a beautiful girl, wearing a green dress made of silk.all parts of her body even her shoes were busy in Adhkaar, the girl said,”Struggle for me,I am struggling for you”, When Abdul Wahid got up form his sleep,he swore an oath that,”I will never sleep at night”.it is said that after this he offerred the salah of Fajr with the Wudu of Eesha, for 40 years (Fadail Amaal ,part-1,Book Fadaail-e-Namaz (Salah) pg. 242)

No sleep after the age of forty-
Abdullah bin Dawood says that these Sufi Shaykhs would pile up and keep away their beds after they reached the age forty ,meaning that their days of sleeping were over . (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL SADAQAT , pg 162)

Aman says that this Shaikh did not sleep for 4 months
Aman says that he spent 4 months with Aamir Bin Abul Qais, and during these four months ,i sever saw him sleeping ,eighter in the day or at night. . (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL SADAQAT , pg 162)

Aetakaaf (seclusion) for one year without Sleeping/talking/taking any support!!
This story tells us that Abu Muhammad Jurairi remained in aetakaaf not just WITHOUT SLEEPING FOR ONE YEAR but he didn’t even take any SUPPORT nor did he speak to anybody for ONE FULL YEAR!! (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL SADAQAT , pg 160-161)

Shaikh Sari Saqti didn’t lie down for 98 years!

Shaikh Junaid Al Baghdadi says that he did not any one practicing Islamic rituals better than Shaikh Saari Saqti, for 98 years no one ever saw him lying down except on his death bed (FADAIL AMAAL PART -2,BOOK FADAIL SADAQAT , pg 160)

A Sayyed Shaikh prayed for 12 days in ONE wudhu!!

A Sayyid shaikh oferred all his prayers with a single wudhu for 12 days, and did not lie down for 15 years, and sometimes he would spend many days continuously without eating??? (Fadail Amaal ,part-1,Book Fadail-e-Namaz (Salah) pg. 245)

Now apart from discussing the possibility of whether a person can survive without sleeping for 4 months/one year/98 years, the most important question to ask here is ‘IS IT PERMISSIBLE TO PERFORM WORSHIP IN SUCH A FASHION?’ And if it’s not, then what is the point in promoting such stories for the sake of virtues (Fadaail)?

The Prophet (PBUH) came into the mosque and noticed a rope stretched between two poles. He enquired, “What is this rope for?” He was told: “This is Zainab’s rope. When during her voluntary prayer, she begins to feel tired, she grasps it for support”. The Prophet (PBUH) said, “Untie it. You should perform prayers so long as you feel active. When you feel tired, you should go to sleep”. (Sahih Bukhari, Sahih Muslim, Riyadus Saliheen # 146)

This hadith deals with following three points, says Imaam An-Nawawi in his commentary of Riyadus Saliheen:

1. It forbids undue strictness and taking support of anything in the course of Salat.
2. If wrong can be corrected by hand, it must be stopped immediately.
3. One should be moderate in `Ibadah and select such times for optional and voluntary prayers when one feels real pleasure in them. End quote.

It is sad that despite such strong evidence from the authentic sources of Islam prohibiting extremism in matters of worship, the adherents of the book FA support many weak/concocted/fabricated narrations transmitted through unknown ashkhas and Sufiya rendered by “Shaikhul Hadith” Mohammad Zakaria Kandhalvi considering it absolutely permissible to use such narrations to promote virtues (fazaail) even if they are strongly in conflict with the teachings of Allah and his messenger (pbuh).and yet Mohammad Zakariayh glorifies such narrations in his book???

Anas (RA) reported: Three men came to the houses of the wives of the Prophet (pbuh) to inquire about the worship of the Prophet (pbuh). When they were informed, they considered their worship insignificant and said: “Where are we in comparison with the Prophet (pbuh) while Allah has forgiven his past sins and future sins”. One of them said: “As for me, I shall offer Salat all night long.” Another said: “I shall observe Saum (fasting) continuously and shall not break it”. Another said: “I shall abstain from women and shall never marry”. The Prophet (PBUH) came to them and said, “Are you the people who said such and such things? By Allah, I fear Allah more than you do, and I am most obedient and dutiful among you to Him, but still I observe fast and break it; perform Salat and sleep at night and take wives. So whoever turns away from my Sunnah does not belong to me” (faman raghiba an sunnati falaisa minni). (Sahih Bukhari, vol. 7, hadith # 1)

Could the prophet (pbuh) be more explicit than this? Can’t we see that these authentic narrations and many given above strongly oppose the idea of self torture in matters of worship? How can then we still turn a blind eye to what we read from the prophet (pbuh) and prefer to accept the stories of FA which “encourage” us to perform ibaadah in the fashion forbidden by the prophet (pbuh)?

Conclusion :
It should be clear to all unbiassed readers that what exactly is the reason that why this Book –Fadail Amaal ,has not been translated into Arabic as a whole, and what were the contents of this book that were removed from the Arabic Translation, which made the 900+ pages (part 1 & 2) original Fadail Amaal in Urdu onto a mere 70 page booklet in Arabic .

This clearly means that the seniors of Jamaah Tableegh ,and the Governing Council (Shoura) of Jamaah Tableeegh ,is aware that there are teachings of Shirk ,Bidaa and Ghuloo in Fadaail Amaal, and this is exactly why they decided to give the Arabs who join jamaah Tableegh to Follow Riyad Asaaleheen and not Fadail Amaal, buf if they know then why are they letting the south Asians follow this book and corrupt thier Aqeedah, what isthe reason is it Dawa or just to keep the legacy of Ilyaas Zakariyah alive, even if that means to put a large section of the Muslims at the risk of shirk and deviance of sufism???

I humbly request all my Muslim Brothers Arabs and non Arabs alike to think about it – Should we be a part of a group that maintains such double standards -who support these tales and many tales discussed in this note which not only lead to Biddah but also lead to Shirk*. and preaches and promotes this book before a section of muslims and at the same time keeping it out of reach from another section to avoid getting exposed.???

You may join Jamaah Tableegh with the honest intention of doing Dawa but please remember it is the same group that has given Sufism and Shirk a new dimension of popularity, through this book Fadail Amaaal and its practices.
